Trade Sync completed the installation of a large-scale outdoor LED display at the entrance of the Canadian Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa, working in collaboration with AVI-SPL to bring a striking digital feature to the recently renovated facility. The installation transforms the museum’s exterior façade into a massive digital canvas, creating an immersive visual experience that begins before visitors even step inside the building.

A Digital Welcome Experience

Positioned across the museum’s main entrance, the LED display measures approximately 75 meters in length, wrapping around the façade and turning the building’s exterior into a dynamic projection surface. The installation allows the museum to showcase digital media, artistic content, and visual storytelling directly on the architecture of the building, creating a unique and engaging first impression for visitors arriving at the site. By integrating digital technology directly into the façade, the project blends design, technology, and art into a single large-scale installation.

High-Performance Outdoor LED Technology

The display utilizes Roll Call outdoor LED technology with a 6.25 mm pixel pitch, designed specifically for outdoor environments where durability and visibility are critical. This pixel pitch provides strong image clarity while maintaining the brightness levels required for daylight viewing conditions, making it ideal for large-format exterior installations. The LED system delivers reliable performance while supporting vibrant visual content across the full width of the installation.

Custom Mounting Solution

To support the display across the building façade, AVI-SPL designed and manufactured a custom mounting system that allows the LED cabinets to adhere directly to the exterior structure. Trade Sync worked closely with AVI-SPL to deploy and install the LED system, ensuring the mounting system was integrated precisely and that the display panels were aligned to create a clean, seamless appearance across the entire façade. The result is a borderless visual presentation that integrates naturally with the architecture of the museum while maintaining the structural integrity required for a large outdoor installation.

Large-Scale Digital Architecture

Projects like the Canadian Science and Technology Museum installation demonstrate how LED technology can transform buildings into interactive digital environments. By combining architectural design with large-format digital displays, institutions can create engaging visual experiences that extend beyond traditional signage. Through its collaboration with AVI-SPL, Trade Sync helped deliver a unique outdoor LED installation that merges technology, media, and architecture into a landmark digital feature at the museum’s entrance.
