“On September 8, 2008, the Mayor of Winnipeg and the Premier of Manitoba announced a funding agreement for $138 million for construction of the first phase of a rapid transit system for Winnipeg, the Southwest Rapid Transit Corridor – Stage 1 project. The project is funded by a combination of City, Provincial, and Federal funding programs.

On October 22, 2008, City Council approved the construction of the project which includes a 3.6 km Transitway between Queen Elizabeth Way & Stradbrook and Pembina & Jubilee and  up to 4 new rapid transit stations at Harkness, Osborne, and in the Fort Rouge Yards” (Source: winnipegtransit.com/en/rapid-transit)

The new transit stations will be outfitted with large overhead canopies, heated shelters, information kiosks, walkway canopies and furniture to accommodate travelling passengers.  Enseicom Inc. out of Quebec was chosen as the manufacturer of choice to design and supply all transit shelters and station identification signage.  Trade Sync has been working with Enseicom Inc. as the installation experts bringing the designs to life.

The new transit stations are expected to be fully finished by early 2012, with Fort Rouge and Harkness Station close to completion by end of 2011.

The City of Mississauga and CBS Outdoor continues their commitment to improve the transit system. Trade Sync has been contracted to install 10 solar powered lighting kits in new Mississauga Transit bus shelters that do not contain advertising. The commitment is the result of a successful pilot project in 2004 where 39 bus shelters were installed with solar powered lights, resulting in significant cost savings for the City.

TTC commenced construction of the Kippling East Entrance in 2010. The construction aims to improve the existing conditions at the street level. As part of the upgrades, the bus station area received one articulated bus bay. The structure manufactured by Enseicom features hard structural lines with transparent glass to provide a soft feel to the bus area. Trade Sync installed the custom TTC Station within a day. The station had a unique layout that required Trade Sync to install clear glazing onto an external cement wall as well as the install of the 83 ft open canopy.  Trade Sync has installed over five different bus structures for TTC.

Five bus platforms along the downtown Transit corridor of Albert and Slater Street in Ottawa were rebuilt to improve drainage and provide a uniform appearance for the platforms in the area. The project coordinated through Prestige Design Construction, who improved bus lanes, replaced the platform and adjacent sidewalks and provided new drainage and bus shelters. Prestige Design had enlisted Enseicom to design and manufacture the new shelters and Trade Sync for the final step of install. The roof unit arrived in two-pieces each 30 feet taking up one flatbed. However, Trade Sync was able to complete the installation of the unit within a day. The spacious 67ft. shelters features improved passenger waiting areas, more benches, as well the shelters are wired for future telecommunication requirements.

Trade Sync installed more than 55 shelters in Toronto, York, East York, North York, Etobicoke and Scarborough. The new shelters are part of Astral Media large network of shelters that are designed by Transworld Signs. The shelters are clean and attractive in design. The enclosed glass units include a solar roof, bench and information map. The installation of each shelter was mostly done in high-residential and busy pedestrian areas of the city.

Toronto streets are full of no-frills designs, TTC streetcars and stations have become a hidden art gallery, the latest install of more than two dozen pieces scattered along the St. Clair streetcar route. The variety of art displayed on the top of the TTC Shelter stops was installed by Trade Sync in November 2010. Each install was unique in design and material used, from digital transparencies sandwiched between glass, to printed panels, perforated metal and colorful plastics. The project coordinated through Rina Greer (an art consultant), TTC and Enseicom the manufacture behind each pieces, has enhanced the streetcar stops and added a colorful backdrop for riders to enjoy.

Trade Sync continuous to assists Jiffy Lube in its re-branding efforts. In November 2010, four (4) Jiffy Lube locations in southwestern Ontario received all new building fascia, architectural columns, window canopies, directional signs, installation of various sign logos such as the Jiffy Lube trademark and Quaker State. The rebranding efforts are best reflected in the EMD (Electronic Message Display) system incorporated into the Pylon sign at each location. In total Trade Sync has assisted in rebranding 10 locations for Jiffy Lube.

OneStop Media/Fourth Wall Media approach Trade Sync to assist in the design and create a fun, memorable brand experience for Virgin Mobile Canada in the downtown Toronto area. Trade Sync solution was an interactive booth where visitors could take pictures and videos and then share them instantly with friends through email and Facebook. Trade Sync installed the 8 by 5ft. bright red booth at Yonge and Dundas Square. The booth has been a key designation for tourists and locals.

Go Transit realizes that the York Region is becoming one of the fastest growing areas in Canada and is investing in a large five-level parking facility that will feature green vehicle parking, “white roof” and many entry points. The new parking structure received an extended entrance way which was installed by Trade Sync.  The custom structure manufactured by Ensiecom ensures commuters are protected against the weather elements while access the parking facility from the train and bus area. The new 25 ft long entrance way was mounted to the existing concrete wall and has automatic double sliding doors for the outside and handicap push buttons doors to the parking lot.  The entrance way is one of the many installs Trade Sync has done for Go Transit.
